Here they are, the ones that topped out the list, the ones that stood out above them all. These are the winners of the Sippie Awards for 2024.
The reason these wines are on this list is simple. Each of them elicited a reaction so positive that it became its own “A-ha” moment. Each one of them reaffirmed that tasting wine is what I love to do. Each one of them gave me hope that wine in Canada is progressing in the right direction, getting further away from the “block and tackle” image of the past and moving towards a style of wines that can put Canada on the world map. These are all wines that will turn heads, no matter where in the world they are tasted and to which other wines they get compared.
